A modern formula, inspired by the work of 2nd century scientist and physician Claudius Galenus, who created the first known skin cream and used it as a salve to treat skin wounds and burns. Creme Ancienne is an ultra luxurious and rich cream that instantly rehydrates, smoothes and plumps skin while it rejuvinates and improves elasticity and firmness. Perfect for use by any skin type.

The cream’s core ingredients, from Galenus’ original formula, include rosewater, beeswax, and borax. Fresh has added modern day ingredients, such as chamomile wax, meadowfoam oil, lemon oil, and vitamin e to further increase the beneficial nature of the cream. In order to preserve the spirit and craftsmanship of the original formula, Fresh has the cream created in small batches entirely by hand in a monastery. Each jar takes up to two days to produce.
